5 Questions for Pokemon Go “Trainers”

~CONTENT POWERED BY WATER PRODUCTS & SOLUTIONS~

We’ve all heard of it. We’ve seen the players. They walk down main street, past Java Moon and Midtown Cafe with their finger-less gloves, their colorful hunting garb and eyes full of adventure. They battle over “gyms”, like the ones at the Sheridan Inn and Los Agaves, stuffing tiny monsters in tinier “poke” balls. You know what we’re talking about. It’s Pokemon Go, and as we don’t partake of the occult, we here at Sheridan Brand have some questions for you trainers:

  1. How many of these things are there? Not only types, but is there a finite number of Pokemon? Will you open up the app one day and it’ll just say “Whoops looks like they’re all gone”?
  2. What do you do after you catch the Pokemon? Do they just… sit there? Can you teach them to do tricks or take selfies with them?
  3. How is a location for a gym decided? What makes the Body Shop more apt to hold Pokemon than the movie theater?
  4. Do you have to speak Japanese to get the “full experience”? Is Pokemon Go just a clever way to encourage multiculturalism and understanding across the ocean? Has this game made us embrace an inquisitive and culturally curious part of ourselves that we didn’t even know was there, and in doing so bridged the gap between nations and across language barriers?
  5. What is a squirtel?Los Agaves Pokemon
