Antelope Butte Foundation — I Raise You $100,000

Talk about raising the stakes! If you haven’t already heard the news, the Dan and Jeanne Scott Family Foundation has offered up $100,000 in funding to support the Antelope Butte Foundation.

The catch?

ABF will have to mirror the funds by first raising their own $100,000 to then unlock the additional $100K. If successful, the Antelope Butte area will be well on its way to transforming into a year-round recreational destination.

If you’re unfamiliar, ABF is a not-for-profit volunteer group charged with a mountain of a task (see what we did there?) to grow funds for the eventual re-opening and renewal of the Antelope Butte mountain recreation area.

We know it’s a place full of great memories from those of us that remember when AB was open for all kinds of fun outdoor activities, but it would seem that this just might be the “challenge” they needed to open their doors again for all of us to enjoy.

To name a few of the activities:

Winter

  • Alpine (downhill) Skiing
  • Snowboarding
  • Telemark Skiing
  • Backcountry Skiing
  • Cross-country (nordic) Skiing
  • Winter Fat Biking
  • Snowshoeing
  • Winter programs for Scout, church, and youth groups
  • Avalanche & winter safety training programs

Summer & shoulder-seasons

  • Scenic Chair Lift Rides
  • Hiking
  • Mountain Biking (cross-country & lift-served)
  • Mountainboarding
  • Disc Golf
  • Zip lines
  • Antelope Butte Summer Festival
  • Brewfests, concerts, and private events
  • Leave No Trace and Outdoor Interpretive programs

Sorry, we got excited and mentioned pretty much all the cool things you can do. If you have more to add, let us know in the comments below!

Anyways, us Wyoming folk can appreciate winter and all its splendor and snowy majesty, but after it hits negative degrees around here … let’s just say we can’t wait for the spring and summer weather to be here for good.

The thing about Antelope Butte is that it is destined to also be a place on your regular rotation of go-to destinations during the warmer seasons. But, when snow begins to fall, it will still remain a great winter recreation area.

Talk about a double-feature!

Josh Law, with the help of his marketing agency in Flood Marketing, will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer for ABF to oversee the fundraising and operations in making this long-awaited plan for Antelope Butte, a reality.

We believe in ABF. In fact, we at Sheridan Brand are proud to have the Antelope Butte Foundation as a Brand Partner, too.

They’re noble in their cause to Provide affordable and accessible year-round mountain recreation, training, and educational opportunities, with a focus on youth and beginners.

So, stay clued in and lookout for more to come from ABF. Even better, let’s all help them to meet their goal in raising the $100,000.

Cheers!
