Sheridan High School to Put on a Musical

Have you noticed a lack of Sheridan High School kids gallivanting about town in the last few weeks? Though there are a ton of activities that students are involved in throughout the year, this is the week for the High School Musical. No, not the one with the Wildcats. That’s another thing. This thing has far more Elijah White, Heather Heath, and Quinton Brooks than it does Zac Efron. Is that a good thing? We seem to think so.

This Thursday, March 2 through Sunday, March 5 at 7:30 pm each night, Sheridan High School students will be putting on the show “Bye Bye Birdie,” a play set in the late 1950’s. The show is rock ‘n’ roll themed. The story is that all the ladies are into this guy named Conrad Birdie, so much so they sing a song about him, there’s a pledge, and it’s all borderline ridiculous (in the best way possible).

In their defense, he is a pretty good lookin’ fella. Conrad, though charming, is a bit crazy, so when he gets drafted things get a little hairy, to say the least. The musical follows other characters too, like Albert Peterson, Rose Alvarez, and Al’s mother. The finished product is extremely entertaining, basically guaranteed to make you swoon. Date night anyone?

The people involved in the musical, including cast, stage crew, musicians, directors, and technicians, have been busting their butts since December to bring this show to you.

You don’t want to miss out, Sheridan!

Tickets can be purchased at the WYO Theater box office for $9 per person – a fraction of the price that a production of this caliber usually goes for. Get your seats before they’re all gone and enjoy the show!
